No matter what it is that one is trying to sell, or make the customer of any kind want the product, it takes great advertising. The main thing I got from reading “Why Johnny Can't Dissent” by Thomas Frank is that he is trying to show people how to be successful. The number one thing is to grab people attention and make your product seem like it’s the best one out. There are many ways to do this, and as Frank said in his article, “Capitalism is changing over time and it is happening quickly”. Due to this, the way people and different companies advertise and show their products are getting better by the day. For example the way each product is going to be advertised is going to differ according to which age of people they are trying to get to buy their item. For instance if it’s a child they might use a mascot or cartoon and show different kids very happy with that item. Or if it’s a grownup they might show a before and after of a grownup who has used that item to show how much of an impact it can have on you. Whether they put an ad in the paper, yellow book, radio or even on TV. Although ads and commercials are used to grab people attention now a day it’s not as easy as it sounds. What I mean when I say that is one commercial is not going to grab everyone’s attention. For instance if you’re selling a house item, one person might want it because he might use it in everyday life while another has no interest in it whatsoever because they don’t need it. So although Thomas Frank is trying to show people how to be successful its not as easy as he makes it sound
